Tracy D. Bond Lance
Award-Winning Author

I have spent a great deal of my life playing roles: wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, friend, entrepreneur, etc. However, writing this book has definitely put me in touch with the person I am behind the innumerable titles.
I am a child of God.
I am a woman who knows that there is something inside of me greater than any obstacle I could ever face in life.
I am a woman who knows that life doesn’t happen to me, it happens for me.
I am a woman who understands that change can only come from challenge.
I am a champion.
I am a warrior.
I am a heroine.
I.am.a.badass.
I am unapologetically me and now, I am an AUTHOR...

A letter to my readers~
Come closer to your screen so you can hear me better...

I PROBABLY SHOULD'VE BEEN DEAD BY NOW! Seriously, all things considered, I probably should’ve been either dead, strung out on drugs, an alcoholic, or at the very least, walking around wearing a ‘Hazardous Material’ sign on my chest. But here I am, telling my story.

I am not a doctor, psychologist, mental health coach, or medical professional. I’m not a popular, renowned public figure, or a big celebrity writing a book. I'm just an ordinary person who’s overcome extraordinary adversities.

All kinds of shots were fired at me. I’ve even been hit several times, but through it all, I’ve learned that I’m not easily broken, shaken, or stumbled. I try not to offer advice as I am flawed and still figuring out life. Instead, I share my pain, mistakes, joy, and purpose in the hope that the focus shifts away from me and onto helping others going through similar circumstances. In telling my stories of tragedy and sharing my vulnerabilities with the world, I realized that God put me through the fire to strengthen me and prepare me for my purpose. The fact is, beauty and resilience were born from each of my tragedies and it's been a transformative journey.

We all share a universal human experience, and we are more alike than we are different. Just like many of us, we all go through challenges in life that we feel is trying cut off our oxygen, and I know I'm not alone. I pray that my story inspires you to not allow darkness to penetrate your life, but through healthy emotional expression, helps you to rediscover the power within to shine your light.

One of my favorite writers, Brené Brown said,"You can't get to courage without walking through vulnerability.” It’s not easy for me to be this vulnerable, but the powerfully invisible force of God moved me to share my flawed but authentic self. When we tell our stories of tragedy and share our vulnerabilities we heal the world. Life is a compilation of chapters, and just like I took hold of the pen and wrote my story, each and every one of you has the power to write and share your story. It's the script of your life that God has already written for you. He didn't write it haphazardly, and He's looking forward to seeing its manifestations. I know this for several reasons, but mainly because through all the literal and figurative shots fired, God has made me bullet-proof, and that was not a random thing.

I invite you inside this book to go on this journey of transparency with me, and listen, I don’t want you to feel pity for me when you read my story. In fact, I hope you get a good laugh even through the difficult parts. My hope is that this book erupts in your heart and mind and resonates with you in a vastly different way than any other story you might find on a bookshelf. So I place this book in your hands to connect with you, to show you that you are not alone, YOU matter, YOU are enough, and no matter what, YOU GOT THIS!

Thank you for taking this journey with me.

Love...
